I was born with colobomas resulting in no fine vision, just peripheral vision, in my right eye. My partial blindness is something I have embraced, and although it makes me different from other people, I have used my disability to show others that I am more than my visual impairment, and I have used my personal experience to motivate others.
I have decided to pursue the premedical path to become a Pediatric Ophthalmologist to help kids with similar visual impairments and encourage them that with hard work, they can do anything they want to. I want to help make a difference for those around me, as every person has the ability to “be more,” by spending their time wisely and focusing on passions and causes that will help improve the community around them.
