Nia has interned with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Biomedical Engineering Team focusing on the design an development of food safety technology, and has served as the parliamentarian of the National Society of Black Engineers. Accepted into the highly competitive science & technology magnet program, she has been inspired by a family cancer diagnosis to seek a career in science and medicine. She attended the Georgetown University Residential Medicine Program, which enhanced her dream to pursue a career in science and health. “I am determined to become a professional who is passionate about medicine–the diseases it cures and the people who need it.”
