Margaret Zhang

While working at a school for special needs students, The Little Lighthouse, Margaret designed a laser-assisted speaker to aid the children in their speech therapy class. She is eager to learn more ways to assist others during her study of technological and social systems at the University of Pennsylvania. Margaret plans to major in computer and cognitive science and minor in urban studies. She hopes to “solve technical problems within the context of global issues like climate change and urban planning.” Margaret has served as a research assistant at the University of Tulsa, the University of Oklahoma and she has presented at Northeastern University’s Research Day Symposium. Margaret is the cofounder, webmaster and sciences editor for The Echo Magazine, captain of TEAM +S and a seasoned pianist.
