After being diagnosed with an eye disorder, Kevin knew he wanted to create sustainable change in his future STEM career. Kevin cofounded The Engineering Factory, which is “dedicated to attracting more minorities to STEM fields and motivating them to pursue meaningful careers.” Kevin has given presentations to elementary school students about the essentialness of STEM careers. He has also participated in a year-long internship provided by the Samuels Family Latino and African American High School Internship Program at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. Kevin is president of the Associated Student Body, secretary of the Envirothon Club, a member of the Mental Health Awareness Club, and cofounder of the LGBTQ+ Awareness Club. He has also served as the secretary of the United Nation’s Children’s Fund and as an Arts Club representative.
