Jaehee is currently a junior at D.H. Conley and has been a student leader for a non-profit organization called Love A Sea Turtle for the past seven years. Being a part of this group has deepened his passion for the betterment of the environment, and has strived to make an impact. Since then, he has not only grown as an individual, but he has also founded his own initiatives, made an impact on my community, and mentored other youth leaders. Jaehee is the founder of his own initiative called Better Bag Solution and also the co-founder and help co lead the umbrella organization called Plastic Free NC. His initiative, Better Bag Solution, is a project focused on the harmful effects of single-use plastic bags, finding safer alternatives, and is dedicated to educating the general public. Since making my first appearance on the news in 2016, he has united local restaurants and business across eastern North Carolina, collaborated with organizations to host environmental events, and recruited like-minded leaders.
