Brooke initially encountered bullying on the school bus as an elementary school student. Brooke explains that it was while riding the school bus that she began to protect and advocate for her younger brother who was ridiculed due to his learning disability and speech disorder. Brooke’s constant defense of her brother and other students like him prompted her to found Teens Help Other People, a nonprofit organization, along with her sister. Brooke now serves as an educator–informing the youth of the importance of respect for all human beings. Brooke is the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Gold Service Award and the Youth Achiever Award.
