Amy, a California native, attended Los Altos high school, and is an incoming freshmen at Harvey Mudd College. Apart from her academics, Amy is an
aspiring engineer, a retired wrestler, an app developer, an amateur aviator, a certified designer, a business-owner, and a researcher.
Throughout her four years of high school, Amy has been recognized as a scholar, athlete, and leader, partly due to the fact she is a member of the varsity tennis team, president of five clubs at her school, valedictorian, and highly active both on campus and off-campus, be it for heading volunteering initiatives, or competing on the national and international scale. She has received many awards, including the Power Pitch Award of the 2018 International Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge for her development of RollX, which is a patent-pending water filtration and transportation device created to be utilized by women within developing nations, who spend a cumulative average of 7 million hours a day collecting drinking water.
However, what Amy likes to consider as the greatest reward from her rich experiences are the friendships she gains throughout her journey. Whether it be wrestling as the only female on her school’s co-ed wrestling team, or partaking in simulated flight training in Florida with aviators from all corners of the world, she treasures each and every opportunity to collaborate and connect with others. With her current experiences and the knowledge she will gain through her next four years at Harvey Mudd, Amy has made a personal commitment to discover global solutions and redesign perceptions on prevalent issues, as to ultimately help those who are least likely to receive the support they need to make their world a better place.
