Alan K. Nevel is Senior Vice President, Chief Diversity and Human Resources Officer for The MetroHealth System.
In this integrated leadership role, Alan is responsible for driving the human resources strategy to attract, retain, and motivate a highly engaged diverse workforce to implement MetroHealth’s mission while leading inclusion, cultural competency and work-life strategies to empower employees.
Alan most recently served as Vice President, Global Diversity and Inclusion for Thermo Fisher Scientific, a $20B global life science solutions, specialty diagnostics and laboratory equipment company, which he joined in 2012. Alan is indeed a global citizen, having worked in nearly 50 countries during his tenure.
Earlier in his career, Alan served in diversity & inclusion, human resources, supply chain, organizational change, R&D, and production management roles for L Brands, Accenture, and the Sherwin Williams Company
Alan is a proud graduate of Cleveland State University (B.A., Liberal Studies) and Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management (M.B.A.). Alan is passionate in his commitment of giving back to his community, currently serving as Chair of CSU’s College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) Visiting Committee, and as an active board member of The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio, Recovery Resources, and The National Society of High School Scholars Foundation.
