Thomas as attended the Student Climate Conservation Congress for four consecutive years. Thomas became co-head of the Environmental Club as a sophomore, and he has worked on Green House Gas Assessment Teams, served on the Faculty Sustainability Task Force, and organized Harvest Dinners. Thomas serves on the Environmental Film Festival Committee, and he has interned with Green Schools Alliance. Thomas created a bicycle-powered water pump for his Eagle Scout project, and he is creating an Eco-Code contract to share the importance of environmental sustainability with other student organizations. Thomas has also attended the School for Ethics and Global Leadership, and he is the recipient of the US Green Building Council NJ Student Award, the Stony Brook Garden Club of America Award, and the Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award.
