At age 14, Sheryl founded the nonprofit organization Girls Advocating Leadership and Strength Inc. (GALS) to encourage more young girls to pursue leadership positions. GALS has provided young girls the opportunity to learn from passionate female community leaders, politicians, professors and entrepreneurs. Sheryl hosts bi-monthly events such as Financial Literacy Simulations, GALS Summer Symposium, Spring Symposium and Fall Symposium. Sheryl has worked tirelessly to win national business competitions and gain partnerships with Costco, Disney Youth Service America, Karma for Cara and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. GALS was featured on Michelle Obama’s Better Make Room, and Sheryl has been invited to speak at Columbia University, The Kairos Movement Women’s Conference and multiple United Nations Youth Assembly panels. Sheryl is also the founder and manager of StyleStargirl lifestyle blog, vice president of the National Honor Society and founder and president of the Model United Nations Club.
